Parlange became the 12th president of the University of Rhode Island on August 1, 2021. President Parlange comes to URI from Monash University, Australia’s largest research university and one of the world’s top 100 universities for excellence in research and teaching. As provost and senior vice president at Monash, Parlange expanded the institution’s global relationships and helped to spur ambitious projects in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, new-generation building construction, and sustainability. He intends to extend and amplify URI’s presence on a global scale through collaboration both on the University’s campuses and with other institutions of higher learning the world over. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Barbara Wolfe is an internationally recognized expert on psychiatric and mental health nursing and eating disorders, has served as dean of the URI College of Nursing since 2016. Her selection follows a broad search that drew interest from an international field of candidates. She came to URI in March 2016 after having served as associate dean for research and professor at Boston College’s William F. Connell School of Nursing. In addition to her work at Boston College, she served as a psychiatry lecturer at Harvard Medical School and president of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. Vice President for Research & Economic Development The University of Rhode Island has named Bethany Jenkins , professor of cell and molecular biology and oceanography, interim vice president for research and economic development. Dr. Jenkins has served in leadership roles both at URI and on national scientific committees, including serving as a co-principal investigator on several NSF-EPSCoR grants. Vice President for Administration and Finance Abby Benson currently serves as Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance at the University of Rhode Island (URI). In this role, Abby oversees several key areas of the University—including facilities, risk management, human resources, budget and finance, public safety, and purchasing. Abby previously served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to the President of URI. Vice President for Student Affairs Ellen Reynolds supervises the office of Student Life/Dean of Students, Memorial Union and Student Activities, Counseling Center, Housing and Residential Life, University Bookstore, Dining and Retail Food Services, Student Health Services, Campus Recreation, Special Programs in Talent Development and Conferences and Special Program Development and she serves as the primary spokesperson for the president on matters pertaining to the social and academic needs of students. Click on: Self Service - URI Directory Profile This page allows you to update your: Home Telephone Preferred Name (as you want your name displayed in the directory) Campus phone and fax number Email address and web page address Please Note: Campus addresses can only be changed by Human Resources via USP-2. Changes made will be reflected in the online directory the following business day. Some information can only be updated by the Office of Human Resources. If you want to change information but you are not able to in e-Campus, please contact Human Resources at extension 874-2416. Home Address and Telephone No employee’s home address or telephone number is automatically displayed in the online or paper directory. Employees have the option of displaying their home address and/or telephone number in the University’s online and paper directories. If you want your home address and/or telephone number displayed in the University’s directories, you must authorize the University to publish this information. To do this, click either or both checkboxes that say Allow Home address to be included in all URI Directories” and/or Allow Home phone to be included in all URI Directories”. For corrections to your home address , submit a USP-5 Form to the Office of Human Resources, If you do not want your home address to appear in the directory, check off suppress home address. Instructions for suppressing directory information for STUDENTS ONLY Suppressing Your Directory Information Under the regulations defined by the Federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (known as FERPA) , students must explicitly tell the University to NOT publish their name, address, and phone number in the online and paper directories. The online phone and paper directories only show students who are currently enrolled in a class. To suppress directory information, you must do this through e-Campus as follows: Log into e-Campus: Click on: SA Self Service Student CenterPersonal InformationOther personal (click on pull down menu select) Privacy Settings (click the go circle)FERPA Restrictions screen will appearClick on EDIT FERPA/Directory Restrictions” This is the page that lists all the items you can elect to allow or not allow the University to release. PLEASE NOTE – If you choose to not allow the University to release your degree, Honors/Awards, or Name, your name, degree, and honors will not be released to newspapers or other publications which print the University’s graduates or Dean’s Lists. Carefully view the list and select which items you want to restrict. When completed, click the "SAVE" button at the lower left corner of the page (scroll down the page to get to the button).
